Well for the past previous months I have been doing a series of tests with opening new and many more wordpress blogs to see how fast Google Indexes these blogs. Today I have opened around my 10th blog, YES tenth blog, and I have noticed the first two posts get indexed in under 12 hours. It is pretty amazing because I have opened up other sites including forums and regular HTML sites that can take days and even up to weeks to get even a page indexed.

I have found that other search engines index rates are slower than google when it comes to wordpress but it really doesn’t matter because eventually, the bot will crawl your blog and index it for the search engine. If you want to open a blog, I won’t try to convince you to open a wordpress blog like I always do but I will suggest it to you. Wordpress has shown me some good success and the best part, the SEO friendly URLs as always, they have helped out at an even greater pace.

Well as you may know already, I converted my Gaming Forum from SMF to vBulletin almost three months ago and I haven’t looked back. There is a very good thing I found out about vbulletin and its Method of SEO. Well first, because of vB, the number of times search engine blogs such as Googlebot and Yahoo! Slurp Bots have gone way up. At first I used to get hundreds of Yahoo Bots online at the same time and a few Google bots at the same time. Much better than MSN though.

I have limited the number of bots that can and that should enter my forum because they do eat up a lot of resources. By resources I mean Bandwidth. I am not rich enough to get a big host with a lot of bandwidth so I have to be careful. I get hundreds of visitors a day and they take a lot of bandwidth themselves.

Another good thing about SEO I found is that since I started using vBulletin, the number of indexed pages in google has gone way up. Of course the number has gone up in Yahoo as well but not as much. Well my point is that, the vBulletin forum software is very good, better than any other Forum CMS that I used.

As I have mentioned before, SEO is Search Engine Optimization and it is how your site fits into search engines for keywords and your SERPs or Search Engine Rank Positions. I also stated that doing your own SEO can be difficult and time consuming. So one suggestion is to try out any article submission service where your article with your link in that article is submitted to many sources of blogs and article directories. It can save you time and most of the time, these are SEO Friendly Techniques. Many companies are automated where they use scripts to submit your articles but there are a few that do manual directory submission service which is a bit more guaranteed that the article was submitted. Of course that is just my opinion but I believe manual is always better than automated.

Blogs are very SEO friendly and having links in blogs of submitting to ping services such as technorati can help and update your blogs for others to read. There are also feed submission services out where these companies will submit your feeds to local ping networks or other ways of subscription. (more…)

What exactly is SEO? SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and basically this just effects your SERPs or Search Engine Rank Positions. And if you ask what SERPs are? These are how your site is listed in search engines on certain searched Keywords. For example, if you search the word game on google right now, the first link there has the highest SERP for that keyword and the links below it decrease in number of their positions. The higher SERP you have, the better you are and more likely you will get traffic for that keyword. Advertising on blogs can be a huge way of getting a great backlink along with a good amount of traffic. Blogs are a huge source of information for the whole internet community and people just like to visit blogs and see what is in them. Advertise on blogs that has a pretty good pagerank or has a decent amount of traffic.

A tip if you will advertise on other blogs, don’t advertise if it has not been updated for about three weeks. Meaning no post has been made for the last 21 days. Many say that inactive blogs are blogs without posts for a month but I disagree and put my own time there. I say from two and a half weeks to three weeks.

Try to advertise on blogs with the name niche or category as your site or has a category within the blog about your site’s category. It only helps with SEO and pageranks.

You can sell more ad space and get into many contextual programs along with attracting traffic and members. Contextual programs are a great thing to start with if you are a blogger and would like to get some money. The pay can be great as well. Try to seek out some search engine marketing around the website. This basically means that they will try to get you more visitors from search engines and you can end up monetizing the sites with the contextual programs.
