Gamers Forum hit ONE THOUSAND also known as 1000 members this morning. Just about 7 hours or so ago, the 1000th member joined up and I am excited. I had just woken up to finish off a little report before going to class in the afternoon, and the 1000th member was just finishing up activating his registration, great timing on my end I guess, but it was luck.

I am happy for Gamers Forum for finally hitting 1000 full members. Although most of these members are not active, the number does mean a sense of accomplishment for all of us Gamers Forum so I have no complaints there. Hopefully as the number gets larger, the percentage of active members goes up as well. All dreams of mine for the forum.

I have posted before on this blog about how I am looking for a cheap game server for my forum. Well by game I mean Counter-Strike 1.6 game server. I have been doing research and trying to find the cheapest ones around that fit into my budget and I didn’t have to look too far when I ran into LowPings.net. Their Counter-Strike game servers are in excellent condition and I have checked my latency which goes into single digit at times. I haven’t found too many other companies with any speed like that. And their 12 slot server that I’ve been searching costs less than $18/month and that is lower than what I’ve seen anywhere else. They also give you a discount if you can purchase for 3 months or more and the savings are incredible.

Along with a game server, I may get a ventrilo server for my forum. This is to keep the forum members in tact and this is another way for them to socialize. Ventrilo servers allow people to talk over the internet with a program called Ventrilo. DallasXtreme ventrilo server hosting is one of the cheapest I’ve found with a 10 slot server for less $5. That’s less than $.50 per slot, now I wish the game servers were this priced, don’t you? But I pay purchase one and if I can turn these into anything big I pay get a 100 slot server which costs less than $30, thats a big price drop. Game shows usually have the objective of one or several contestants winning some sort of prize. Everyone’s dream is to go on game Shows like the Price is Right or Who Wants to be a Millionaire and win a lot of and other prizes. Well some of you may know this already but I am looking to rent a Counter Strike Game Server for my Gaming Forum. It is something special I would like to give my members in hopes to bring up more activity and popularity for the forum. The past few months I have been looking around and due to some trouble I couldnt get my desired server so I am still looking.

I am sure some of you are familiar with the concept of Paying to Play a game for a certain amount of time. I am not talking about games you pay one time and play forever for your consoles. But these games usually refer to MMORPGs or Massively Mutiplayer Online Role Playing Game. Just means a lot of people play a role playing game together.

The Apple Macintosh system suffers through the computer world because of lack programs and applications you can run on it. Also it suffers in the game world because most games you see coming out for the computer, they come out for the PC system which consists of Windows processor. But there are mac games out there but they aren’t as saturated as Windows versions but no problem, they are just as fun and game companies are always working on making their games compatible for all processors.
