Just 1 More Month

I have an exact 30 day wait until my official Summer vacation starts next month on May 15th. On May 14th, I take my last final, or we can call it my Final Final but that can confuse people. I am happy to have finally gotten this term over. It was a very short term as well. We opened up back in January and three months went by very quickly.

My next term starts late August, I am not sure of the exact date but I will post about it again later. It seems that the starting date for classes gets earlier and earlier each term because for next term, I am started two days earlier than I did Last summer. But anyway, Just 1 more month before I am out and I Can just enjoy life without the tension of doing classwork and having all of these reports.

60,000 Posts on GF

Earlier this morning my forum called Gamers Forum hit its 60,000th post and now we are well past that point. It is another landmark hit because we reached 10,000 extra posts in just over a month and a half and that pace is very quick compared to where we were last year.

We are aiming for 75,000 posts now because that is 3/4 of the way to the real goal which is 100,000 which is a HUGE landmark for any forum out there and I want to hit that by the end of the year. We have just over eight months to make at least 40,000 posts otherwise I’ll be very, very, very disappointed.

My Own Image Host

I Have never owned an image host before so I really thought of getting one. I spoke to a few friends, most of them who are web masters just like me who owns many websites. And I have spoken to a few people that have tried to own an image host themselves and so far if I had to guess at least 90% of them said I should get my own dedicated server if I really want to set up an image host.

Here is the problem, a dedicated server costs a few hundred dollars a month. Of course I have my own web server at home but the internet is not quick enough to hose a huge image host and have it shared all around the internet.

So I put my gamers forum into the idea and set up an Image host right there. It is exclusive to members so I can control what goes in and how much of the photos are distributed. You can sign up at Gamers-Forum.com and just use the feature anytime. But remember that you need at least 10 posts before you can host more than 1 image.

If all goes well, I may try out an image host on my own server at home, just to test it out and see how it goes. I will definitely post about it here later.

I don’t need a new laptop but my mother has really started using the computer a lot lately. She uses my laptop when the laptop is home with me or when I don’t take the laptop to class with me. But that has started to change and the laptop isn’t home with my mom too often anymore. So I thought of buying her a laptop from ebay, and I will definitely get her one that’s in great working condition.
