My PC parts finally came today and I am very excited to put it all together. I have already started and set up the case already, installed my PSU and my motherboard with the rear IO panel which came with the motherboard. It all went well and I am just on a break to figure out which I should install next and then I’ll carry on from there.

New Monitor Coming My Way
I ordered a monitor from Tiger Direct and this was my first order. It was a headache and I had to actually cancel my order once before reordering but at the end, the order was processed and the order was shipped out last evening. I have been tracking the shipment almost every hour so I have been keeping an eye on where the package is.

Going with AMD?
I am thinking of building a new computer for my spring break, hopefully if my plan goes well I’ll be able to finish my new computer building project by the time my spring break is over. Of course I’ll do it in less than a day but gathering of the separate parts is what takes a lot of time. So far for the processor I have semi-decided to go with AMD rather than the good old Intel that many others prefer.

Need New Monitor
My computer’s current monitor is almost 12 years old. Yes people it is almost a dozen years old and it is still working and fighting. It is a Hewlett Packard Pavilion CRT monitor that has lasted me over a decade of fun. It if 15 inches and it still works. But there comes a time when it has to be replaced. Primary reason is that it has become very dark to see, some dark colors look too dark and if something a little lighter is in front, I won’t be able to see it.

500 GB vs. 1 TB HDD
Hard Drives are essential and kind of very necessary for a computer. And today prices of a hard drives have gone down big time. There was a point where 40 gigabyte hard drives were HUGE and they would cost around $200 for just one internal one. Now 500 Gigabytes and even 1 terabyte hard drives have come out. You can now get 500 Gigabyte hard drives for around $100 or a 1 terabyte one for around $250.

New Computer Case
Today I ordered my brand new XION manufactured Computer case for a new computer I have planned to build in the near future. Hopefully by the time Spring break comes at the end of February I will have assembled all of the parts necessary for my new computer.
So far the Case is checked off my list and next comes the PSU or Power Source Unit and then probably going to look at the hard drive. The motherboard, Graphics Card, and the processor will be the last things I look to buy. It is unusual because last time, the processor came first. This time I want to buy the things that are general and then focus on what will determine the raw power of the Computer later on. Wish me luck.
Try a Demo
If there is a demo of any program out there, I’d recommend that you try it. Well try it if it’s a program you may be interested in using and a program you feel can help you out. I usually use a trial period or a demo of any programs that require me to buy it. Before I bought myself Photoshop CS2 I used the 30 day trial period Adobe has given me.

Internal vs. External Hard Drives
Well I have been learning a lot about internal hard drvies lately and so far I can tell you that they are much better than external ones. Well first they get their power source and feed straight from the computer’s power source unit and the motherboard and they are always connected. Usually with external hard drives you will have to disconnect after a while or they get very hot. Internal hard drives is also good because it goes into your computer case and it becomes just one object so when you want to move it, you don’t have to move the case first and then the hard drive, just move the central unit.
Internal Hard Drives also have a Faster RPM or rotations per minute so they can record and move more files much faster. Of course external ones can catch up to that but they are much more expensive because of their high speed. External hard drives also use a USB cord to transfer files. This is true most of the time. And internal hard drives use a thick wire within the computer itself. If you look at it, you can assume that more files can be copied and transferred from and to the internal hard drive much faster than the external one even if the external hard drive has a faster RPM. So if you have some space left in your computer case, you are better off getting an internal hard drive rather than an external one.
Online Time Capsule
Time capsules are normally used to store objects into a little capsule and burying it for later use. Perhaps the capsule will be opened a 100 or even a 1000 years from when you buried it and the people then will know what type of people you were and how you’ve changed the world today. You would be giving the future generations a taste of history. Well did you ever hear of a time capsule on the internet? If you haven’t before, well now you have because I am here to tell you about http://www.the100yearwebsite.com/ which is a website and an online time capsule. It is a pretty cool feature and many people have their products to be held for the next 100 years.
On The 100 year Website, you can upload your text, audio, video, and photos of yourself or anything else and have it held on that site for 100 years. Then it will be opened for everyone to see a 100 years from the day you submit. Now that’s pretty cool. After you submit they will send you a metal branded capsule that contains the certificate of ownership and log in details for your account so you can view what you have stored in the near future. Several UK Celebrities such as Kerry Katona, Danielle LLyod, abd Max Clifford have all signed up so far and they seek to get bigger. Will you store your information to be viewed a 100 years from now?
