Cell Phone Plans

Posted on October 7, 2007 by LiNuX

When you see someone with a cell phone in their ear walking pass you the street, you can assume that there is a very high chance that person is on a cell phone plan. Cell phone plans just give you a certain amount of free minutes you get per month and along with extra features. Features such as this include voice mail, text messaging, roaming, internet, email, and there are certainly more features. These days most cell phone plans give you free voice mail and some sort of roaming time before you have to pay. My cell phone plan gives me both for free and I get it from T-Mobile. Since there are many cell phone companies out there offering you different services for different prices, it is always good to compare cell phone plans to see which fits you best and which is actually giving you the best deal.

Most cell phone plans come with a contract of one or two years. Unfortunately my cell phone plan comes with a two year contract and I cannot get out of it until it expires which still has about two years left. I have compared the plans before i went with anything. Well I have a family plan so I save a lot more getting the whole plan with my family. We get about 1000 free minutes per month and free voice mail along with free roaming. We never go above the given free minutes so we have nothing to worry about with the extra fees that come with extra minutes used. So also take a look at how much the company offering you service charges for minutes gone after the limit. Some may charge $0.15 and others may charge you as much as a $1 so be careful and read the whole contract and ask questions if necessary. You don’t want to end up.

You can check Wirefly’s Wireless Wizard on the internet because they list all the plans that will fit you for the price you need. And the best part is that they can find you plans that do not require yearly or even monthly contracts.

External Hard Drives

Posted on October 5, 2007 by LiNuX

These days having a huge 200 GigaByte hard drive in your CPU just isn’t enough. And even when you addon your second internal hard drive, you can’t seem to fit all your files. So that’s why the technological world has produced the External Hard Drives. These are hard drives you can carry with you almost anywhere and these are generally small and portable. These can hold space of up to 1 TeraByte which is equal to 1,000 GigaBytes. That’s a lot of space.

I have an external hard drive and it is called ROCK Mobil Disk. It is the size of my Cable modem and I can actually fit it into my jacket pocket. I wish I could fit it into my pant pockets but I simply don’t have that much room. If you think you will need more space for your pc, you may want to think about getting a separate external hard disk because these are portable and you don’t have to worry about lost info or memory issue or a crash because these are safe and can be used on any computer as long as there is an USB port.

Dial Up vs. DSL

Posted on September 28, 2007 by LiNuX

Believe it or not, DSL is now the most used type of internet connection in the United States now. I do not know if it is the same throughout the rest of the globe but at least in the US. And you also won’t believe how many people still use Dial-Up connection companies like AOL, Netscape, and NetZero.

Dial Up certainly can save you a lot more money, but you are actually losing time. Lets say that your dial up connection costs you around $10 per month and it takes you two hours to do research for a paper. And imagine DSL costs $30 per month and the speed is around 100 times faster than Dial Up. How long will it take you to do your research? It can take you from 10 to 20 minutes. Don’t let a mere $20 per month slow you down because if you have an online business, you can only thrive with broadband connection.

Debranding & Upgrading Your Sony Ericsson

Posted on September 11, 2007 by LiNuX

Sony is one of the largest companies around. Where ever you go, there is a big chance that you will see a Sony product somewhere. Whether it’s any version of the Playstation, a digital camera, a DVD player, a television, or a Sony Ericsson phone. The Sony Ericsson has become a huge success for the company because this is a phone a lot of people want. But there are a lot of restrictions to this phone such as settings and themes. You can debrand it and take away those restrictions and that’s what Wotanserver.com offers you. You can just plug your phone into your PC with a DCU-60 USB cable which should come with your phone, run the software and just go on from there. You can buy online – instant delivery is available if you are a small business trying to get a lift with this type of business.

Don’t confuse debranding with unlocking. Unlocking just lets you use any GSM network such as T-Mobile, Cingular, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and etc. Debranding lets you customize and upgrade your phone on certain SonyEricsson models. Upgrading the phone can get rid of bugs and make your phone a lot faster. If it takes 20 seconds for your phone to turn on and get service, it’ll now take 10 seconds. It’ll save you a ton of time as well.

Of course if anything goes wrong, you could lose all your phone info and now it’s dead. But WotanServer has you covered because before you upgrade or debrand anything, they will take a whole backup of your phone like taking a backup of a computer. You will never have to worry about your phone losing any information or suffering internal software damages. It is all covered. So if you want to make your Sony Ericsson a little better, faster, and cooler, just get the software. If you purchase enough, it can cost you less than 2.5 Euros each. Good luck with upgrading or debranding, it could be the best choice you ever made for your phone.

3CX Phone System

Posted on September 10, 2007 by LiNuX

3CX IP Phone System for Windows is just another VoIP phone system for you. They help you reduce the price of enterprise telephony so you save more when you are making phone calls or receiving phone calls. You can control who can call you and who can’t and control it all from your computer. You can set some people on queue as if they are standing on line. Bigger phone companies such as verizon and optimum voice will put you on hold and on a little line on the phone and give you support when you reach there. So this is a pretty cool service.

You also have phone call switching service which is cool when you want to route your phone call to the one next door. Of course if you don’t want to spend too much on this, they offer a free edition. You just pay the support in exchange for this free service. Meaning, there is no support for you. You also don’t get any type of assistance but it’s still pretty cool. If you think you don’t need support or assistance, go for this free edition. But it is pretty complicated and if you arent very computer savvy, this will be hard for you. Below is the attached press release about this product and software. Read it, it provides a lot more information than this little post.

3CX Phone System Provides Economical Enterprise Telephony on Windows

3CX frees the Enterprise PBX from proprietary hardware, dramatically reducing the cost of Enterprise telephony

Miami, Florida – 26 June 2007 – 3CX today released the Enterprise edition of its new product 3CX Phone System, a Windows-based IP PBX that completely replaces a proprietary PABX. 3CX Phone System is based on the open SIP standard and interoperates with a wide range of popular SIP phones, VOIP Gateways and SIP-based providers. The Enterprise edition of 3CX Phone System implements enterprise telephony features such as Call Queuing and Exchange 2007 integration. It has been independently tested and certified for Microsoft Windows 2003.

The Call Queuing feature allows companies to hold callers in a queue, whilst agents answer calls. Agents are able to login and logout to queues from Windows seeing the exact number of callers in the queue.

The Exchange 2007 integration feature allows 3CX Phone System to use the Unified Messaging Server in Exchange Server 2007 as the voice mail server. This way, users can connect to their Exchange Server to listen to their calendar, have Exchange read out mails and receive their voice mail in their email inbox.

“The release of 3CX Phone System Enterprise edition is set to accelerate the massive change occurring in the Enterprise Telephony market space. With 3CX Phone System Enterprise Edition, advanced features such as Call Queuing can now be obtained for a fraction of the price of traditional Enterprise PBXs. What’s more, advanced features such as integration with Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 unified messaging are not even available on today’s proprietary PBXs,” said Nick Galea, 3CX CEO.

Key features of 3CX Phone System Enterprise Edition:

* Complete phone system – provides call switching, routing & queuing
* Eliminates phone wiring & patching of extensions to a particular network point
* Makes teleworking easy because employees can answer extension from home
* Purchase cost dramatically lower than a traditional hardware PBX
* Scalable – Unlimited extensions and phone lines. No proprietary expansion modules needed!
* Web-based configuration & status indication – Easy phone system management!
* Unified messaging – Receive voice mail via e-mail
* Auto attendant (e.g. 1 for sales, 2 for support etc.)
* Reduces long distance and inter office call costs using VOIP providers.
* Exchange 2007 Unified Messaging integration
* Call Queues
* Certified for Windows 2003

Four available editions: Small Business, Pro, Enterprise and Free
3CX Phone System for Windows is available in 4 editions: The Small Business Edition supports up to 25 extensions, the Pro edition supports an unlimited number of extensions. The Enterprise edition includes advanced features such as Exchange 2007 integration and Call Queuing. Pricing is competitive: Small Business costs $350, the Pro runs at $895 and Enterprise costs $1250.

3CX Phone System Free edition
A free edition, supporting an unlimited number of extensions, is also available. The main difference with Pro and Small Business is that it’s not possible to buy a support package for the free edition, nor does it include the advanced features of 3CX Call Assistant. Not withstanding, the Free Edition does more than most commercial PBXs do; including an auto attendant, voice mail and even user-to-user support via the 3CX moderated product forums at http://www.3cx.com/forums/. The free edition can be downloaded from http://www.3cx.com/ip-pbx/index.html.

Packet8

Posted on September 10, 2007September 10, 2007 by LiNuX

Packet8 is one of the newest and largest internet phone service available now. Their service offers Crystal Clear sound and reception using your broadband connection. I had the pleasure of trying out their services a few months back before I moved. But as always, packet 8 is giving out something more along with their great service. Getting a Video Phone has been something that I always wanted. When I was little I saw it on television, more specifically, it was a spy movie. Though I don’t clearly remember the name as it was a long time ago and I was young, I would have to guess it was a James Bond movie but anyway, you can get your own video phone from Packet8.

By video phone I don’t mean that you can record stuff on your phone like a cell phone or take pictures, but an actual live conversation with the person you are talking to. It’s like being right next to the person and talking to your friend. Your friend can see what you are doing and you can see what your friend is doing. I often try to show my friends things on the tv or computer but since they are not with me, I can’t, but if I have one of their video phones, I just put the phone in front of what I want them to see. It’ll be a breeze to show off another way.

Packet8 offers two types of video phones. One is called the VideoPhone DV326 that has some pretty great specs. It has a 5″ video screen so it’s like having a little portable DVD Player. And if the person is out of focus, the camera will auto focus for you. Their second phone is called the Packet8 Tango. The one I want. Why? Well first, it reminds me of an iPod and it seems I can fit it into my pocket and carry it around with me. It also has a 5″ LCD Screen and it is crystal clear. Packet8 is a growing company seeking to go far, will you be one to test them out?

Home Camera

Posted on September 10, 2007 by LiNuX

I have been asked by Home Camera to give a Fair and Impartial about their site and products. Home camera is just here to make your home monitoring much easier. You just set up your web camera on any part of your house and just use your computer to connect it to your Home camera account and you can view your house from anywhere if you just have simple internet connection. I don’t know about you but I think that it’s pretty cool to be able to do something like that.

Imagine you are going on vacation for a whole month to Paris or Rome, and your house will be emtpy somewhere in Long Island and no one to watch the house. If you set up a few web cams in certain rooms, door ways, and garage and you connect it to your home camera system, you will feel much safer and confident. Why? You will feel more comfortable because you have the choice to see what is happening in your house and if anything moved. I say this assuming that you have internet connection. You will be able to monitor activity in your house from 5,000 miles away. If your house is getting burglarized, you will know, and you can make a call to the local cops to get to your house and apprehend the burglars. Of course you will have to make a long distance call but it will be worth it.

Home camera, in my opinion, offers a pretty good and pretty cool service for anyone and everyone. And now since Home Camera is at its beta stage, it’s completely free for you to use. Now I just have to buy a few web cams and put it around my house just to try it out. Use it at my door so I know who is coming and going. If you can find a better deal, be sure to let me know in a comment here, I’ll be sure to look at it.

Apple iPhone

Posted on August 16, 2007 by LiNuX

Apple is a very well known company, mostly known for their Macintosh computers and now the new iPod and iTunes. But only recently, Apple has launched one of their new and most successful products called the apple iPhone. The iPhone originally launched in Japan and came out in the United States just a few months ago. You will see many people trying to sell the iPhone on ebay and other auction sites and the prices will just blow you away. These people usually unlock iPhone so it can be used with any GSM network.

Even though the iPhone is a very new product to have come out a few months ago, it already has maybe a few dozen iPhone accessories that can go with the product. These accessories spice up the look, service, and quality of your iPhone. It is very hard buying or acquiring an iPhone right now but this is just a brief review on where you can get it and exactly how popular this has become. With the touch screen buttons and the small and thin look of the iPhone makes it one of the perfect phone for anyone. If you are interested, this could be your dream phone so good luck getting one.
