Doing It Yourself

Posted on September 14, 2007 by LiNuX

I live in a household where my family does not like to hire others to do work around the house. If the sink needs fixing, my father and I usually do it ourselves and after a lot of we usually get it done. But that’s not always the case. In the basement, once we tried to fix the floors by installing new wood flooring, but our measurements were all wrong not once, but twice and we had to hire a professional to do it and it did cost us a lot more money. DoItYourself.com offers you some videos and DVDs that give tips on how you can do household harware fixing yourself. You can even buy fixer upper house and get information on it online.

The DoItYourself DVDs gives you detailed instructions on how you can and how you should do some home improvement projects. Know that knowledge is power and when you have enough knowledge about what type of home improvement you have to do to make your home a little better and easier to use some utilities, you can get a lot of information and knowledge from the DoItYourself videos. Make sure you have some sort of idea of what you have to do before you start the project, because trust me, you don’t want to end up like me and my dad and end up spending a few hundred more dollars trying to fix your mistakes. Good luck!

Weird Al – White & Nerdy

Posted on September 14, 2007 by LiNuX

Weird Al is a very weird artist in my opinion but he has some of the best and most interesting music out there. He doesn’t really have any songs of his own, he just modifies most other people’s songs and changes up lyrics and keeps music the same. But it’s pretty awesome. He takes hits and some dull songs into exciting and funny songs.

The video below is from one of his best songs called “White & Nerdy.” He modified Chamillionaire’s song titled “Ridin’ Dirty” and made it very funny. It is a few years old so it’s no new news for most. So enjoy the song and video as much as I have. Listen carefully and you’ll laugh hard.

Answering Service

Posted on September 13, 2007September 24, 2007 by LiNuX

Call waiting is something almost everyone with a phone has. It just puts an incoming call on hold and notifies you of that call. But the bad thing is, most phone lines have only one call waiting line. Anyone that calls when there is a call waiting will get a busy signal and probably hang up. But 1-800 We Answer’s Answering Service is something many business and individuals have found useful. They are located in New York City, near where I live. And they have 24/7 staffing so you won’t have to worry about any issues waiting for the next business day. Their Telephone Answering Service is certainly one of the best around.

They do guarantee that you will never miss another call no matter how many calls are coming in. They can even record as many messages at the same time as you need. So you don’t have to worry about maxing out at 5 or 6. Just let those calls come in and you can get back to them anytime you wish. I have seen what they do and it’s an excellent service, especially for small businesses that relies on phones for communication and order details. They have been alive for over 35 years and show no signs of going down.

1&1

Posted on September 12, 2007 by LiNuX

1&1 is a very big company that deals with web hosting and domain registration. I have used them to register about two domains in the past 2 months and so far so good. No bad experience with them and they are pretty cheap. Cheaper than most other registrars out there. But they also have some downsides compared to others.

1&1 gives out most domain extensions for as low as $5.99. That is a much cheaper price even compared to NameCheap, my favorite registrar. They also give out a free whoisguard which is excellent because so far, NameCheap is the only other registrar that does that for free for purchasing one domain. GoDaddy gives you a free whoisguard if you register 5 domains or more.

1&1 domain transfer fees is something I don’t like. Transferring your domain to another 1&1 account costs at least $5.99 per domain and more for other newer extensions. I think that it’s not right to charge for transfers. But otherwise, 1&1 is a very reputable and good company. If you want to save, try them out and see what happens.

Self-Publishing

Posted on September 11, 2007 by LiNuX

Publishing is something everyone cannot do. Writing books and having sales from them can be a great feeling and if your information is useful and it gets a person’s attention, you can be on your way to fame. There are however, many people that do their own publishing. It’s called Self-Publishing and reason is very clear why it’s called that. Self-Publishing is something the big authors don’t like. They think it takes away from the whole experience of getting published by a bigger company and making more copies. But California incorporation kits can help you publish your own products.

I haven’t tried publishing my products yet but I am sort of working on an online ebook. If I have enough time and money to start up, I will probably turn that ebook into a real book with its cover and everything. If I can market that and sell enough copies, I may be the next best author that you will hear about. Always keep your dreams high and just aim for it. If you want to publish your own products, don’t let anyone or anything stop you, get books and read a lot of books that will help you understand what you have to do. Good luck Self-Publishing.

Posted on September 11, 2007 by LiNuX

Rihanna is one of the new artists that made her Debut not more to long ago. She has come very far and two nights ago at the 2007 Video Music Awards on MTV, Rihanna has one not one, but Two Video Music Awards. One was for the song Umbrella and that’s the music video embedded below.

This song was one you just couldn’t get away from. It was on the radio. It was on the TV. It was all over the internet. This song has earned her much fame and she plans to feed on that and get bigger. Rihanna is one of my Sister’s favorite artists even though not a favorite of mine. But she deserves this post and I will share with you the video Umbrella performed by Rihanna featuring Jay-Z. Enjoy!

Debranding & Upgrading Your Sony Ericsson

Posted on September 11, 2007 by LiNuX

Sony is one of the largest companies around. Where ever you go, there is a big chance that you will see a Sony product somewhere. Whether it’s any version of the Playstation, a digital camera, a DVD player, a television, or a Sony Ericsson phone. The Sony Ericsson has become a huge success for the company because this is a phone a lot of people want. But there are a lot of restrictions to this phone such as settings and themes. You can debrand it and take away those restrictions and that’s what Wotanserver.com offers you. You can just plug your phone into your PC with a DCU-60 USB cable which should come with your phone, run the software and just go on from there. You can buy online – instant delivery is available if you are a small business trying to get a lift with this type of business.

Don’t confuse debranding with unlocking. Unlocking just lets you use any GSM network such as T-Mobile, Cingular, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and etc. Debranding lets you customize and upgrade your phone on certain SonyEricsson models. Upgrading the phone can get rid of bugs and make your phone a lot faster. If it takes 20 seconds for your phone to turn on and get service, it’ll now take 10 seconds. It’ll save you a ton of time as well.

Of course if anything goes wrong, you could lose all your phone info and now it’s dead. But WotanServer has you covered because before you upgrade or debrand anything, they will take a whole backup of your phone like taking a backup of a computer. You will never have to worry about your phone losing any information or suffering internal software damages. It is all covered. So if you want to make your Sony Ericsson a little better, faster, and cooler, just get the software. If you purchase enough, it can cost you less than 2.5 Euros each. Good luck with upgrading or debranding, it could be the best choice you ever made for your phone.

Evanescence – Tourniquet

Posted on September 11, 2007 by LiNuX

Tourniquet is another one of Evanescence’s great songs. It’s guitar music is really catchy and it will just embed itself into your brain for a while. I couldn’t find a real music video with Evanescence in it but this is a pretty cool one as well. These are scences for the video game Resident Evil 4 and the creator did a great job mixing the music with the video. It’s almost 5 minutes long but its great. Enjoy the music even if you don’t like the video that much.

3CX Phone System

Posted on September 10, 2007 by LiNuX

3CX IP Phone System for Windows is just another VoIP phone system for you. They help you reduce the price of enterprise telephony so you save more when you are making phone calls or receiving phone calls. You can control who can call you and who can’t and control it all from your computer. You can set some people on queue as if they are standing on line. Bigger phone companies such as verizon and optimum voice will put you on hold and on a little line on the phone and give you support when you reach there. So this is a pretty cool service.

You also have phone call switching service which is cool when you want to route your phone call to the one next door. Of course if you don’t want to spend too much on this, they offer a free edition. You just pay the support in exchange for this free service. Meaning, there is no support for you. You also don’t get any type of assistance but it’s still pretty cool. If you think you don’t need support or assistance, go for this free edition. But it is pretty complicated and if you arent very computer savvy, this will be hard for you. Below is the attached press release about this product and software. Read it, it provides a lot more information than this little post.

3CX Phone System Provides Economical Enterprise Telephony on Windows

3CX frees the Enterprise PBX from proprietary hardware, dramatically reducing the cost of Enterprise telephony

Miami, Florida – 26 June 2007 – 3CX today released the Enterprise edition of its new product 3CX Phone System, a Windows-based IP PBX that completely replaces a proprietary PABX. 3CX Phone System is based on the open SIP standard and interoperates with a wide range of popular SIP phones, VOIP Gateways and SIP-based providers. The Enterprise edition of 3CX Phone System implements enterprise telephony features such as Call Queuing and Exchange 2007 integration. It has been independently tested and certified for Microsoft Windows 2003.

The Call Queuing feature allows companies to hold callers in a queue, whilst agents answer calls. Agents are able to login and logout to queues from Windows seeing the exact number of callers in the queue.

The Exchange 2007 integration feature allows 3CX Phone System to use the Unified Messaging Server in Exchange Server 2007 as the voice mail server. This way, users can connect to their Exchange Server to listen to their calendar, have Exchange read out mails and receive their voice mail in their email inbox.

“The release of 3CX Phone System Enterprise edition is set to accelerate the massive change occurring in the Enterprise Telephony market space. With 3CX Phone System Enterprise Edition, advanced features such as Call Queuing can now be obtained for a fraction of the price of traditional Enterprise PBXs. What’s more, advanced features such as integration with Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 unified messaging are not even available on today’s proprietary PBXs,” said Nick Galea, 3CX CEO.

Key features of 3CX Phone System Enterprise Edition:

* Complete phone system – provides call switching, routing & queuing
* Eliminates phone wiring & patching of extensions to a particular network point
* Makes teleworking easy because employees can answer extension from home
* Purchase cost dramatically lower than a traditional hardware PBX
* Scalable – Unlimited extensions and phone lines. No proprietary expansion modules needed!
* Web-based configuration & status indication – Easy phone system management!
* Unified messaging – Receive voice mail via e-mail
* Auto attendant (e.g. 1 for sales, 2 for support etc.)
* Reduces long distance and inter office call costs using VOIP providers.
* Exchange 2007 Unified Messaging integration
* Call Queues
* Certified for Windows 2003

Four available editions: Small Business, Pro, Enterprise and Free
3CX Phone System for Windows is available in 4 editions: The Small Business Edition supports up to 25 extensions, the Pro edition supports an unlimited number of extensions. The Enterprise edition includes advanced features such as Exchange 2007 integration and Call Queuing. Pricing is competitive: Small Business costs $350, the Pro runs at $895 and Enterprise costs $1250.

3CX Phone System Free edition
A free edition, supporting an unlimited number of extensions, is also available. The main difference with Pro and Small Business is that it’s not possible to buy a support package for the free edition, nor does it include the advanced features of 3CX Call Assistant. Not withstanding, the Free Edition does more than most commercial PBXs do; including an auto attendant, voice mail and even user-to-user support via the 3CX moderated product forums at http://www.3cx.com/forums/. The free edition can be downloaded from http://www.3cx.com/ip-pbx/index.html.

Evanescence – Bring Me to Life

Posted on September 10, 2007 by LiNuX

Evanescence is another one of my favorite bands out there. Below is one of the songs from one of their albums titled The Falled. The song is titled Bring Me to Life. It has some great music with catchy lyrics. I do prefer hip hop a bit more but this song along with a few other Evanescence songs have caught my attention and I am now sharing it with you.

Enjoy!
