Limp Bizkit – Rollin’

Posted on August 28, 2007 by LiNuX

I’ve been posting Linkin Park music videos for a while and now I thought I’d skid over and show you some videos from Limp Bizkit. They haven’t brought out an album in a few years but they still have some pretty good and catchy songs. The one below is titled “Rollin'” from their album Chocolate Starfish and this was one of my favorite songs at one time. Enjoy the song as much as I have!

Work Wear

Posted on August 28, 2007September 10, 2007 by LiNuX

Most work places will require you to wear certain type of work wear or equipment. I worked at a library at one point of my life and I had to wear a t-shirt provided by the library and valid work shoes. What I mean by work shoes is sneakers and work boots were allowed. No high heels for anyone and must wear appropriate clothing. Cannot show excessive skin or get fired.

If you get a decent job at an office, will you wear shorts and a t-shirt to work? Of course not! You will wear a shirt, pair of slacks, and nice shoes. You want to be noticed but not laughed at. Wearing professional attire such as a suit will make you look professional and let everyone else know that you mean business. Places like metboots offers some good footwear for wherever you want to work. Whether it’s in an office or in a bowling alley, they have what you need with free shipping over $100 purchase. You can look at men’s warehouse for suits and nice shirts and slacks. Just go around and pick out what fits the job description. Good luck!

Investing in Real Estate

Posted on August 27, 2007 by LiNuX

Real Estate is a great market to invest your money. The price of real estate property is increasing exponentially in different parts of the country such as here in New York. People tend to do real estate investing in parts of the country where they know the price will increase and later on when they sell the property, they will make a lot of money.

Although I have not purchased any property yet, I have family members, including my parents, who have invested in real estate and it has paid off becaues the market value of the property has increased more than expected in the past few years. There is a news letter called the REIClub newsletter that informs its members about the current real estate market, upcoming seminars, advice, tips, and resources. These are all useful if you are new to real estate investments and there are still a lot to learn if you have experience in this field.

Taking your money to invest in real estate can be one of the best decisions you’ve ever made. I do plan to buy some sort of real estate when I grow older and have the money to invest. Of course, that’s all after college and graduate school. I want to see how well I do with this new field and if its anytime soon, I’ll keep you guys informed.

Backups

Posted on August 27, 2007August 27, 2007 by LiNuX

A backup is a copy of the file, folder, software, or website that you have. They call it a backup because if your original file goes wrong and you can’t use it anymore, then the “backup” is there to back you up and run in the place of the original. Making backups are crucial for most webmaster and their websites. If you own a very big and active forum and you haven’t backed up in a month. Then all of a sudden, your server crashes and you lose all the information. Your month old backup won’t do much to recover your stats unless you lost just a few dozen posts. Making an Online Backup of your site is also smart.

Programs like IBackup provides online space for you to backup your sites and other files. You can even set the backup to an automated scheduled backup. Set it to do that once a day and see how much time you save backing up. Their servers are strong and they have backups as well so you don’t have to worry about losing a month’s data anymore. This is a reputable company with several awards under its name so this is my recommended website. You can get free space to paid space. But either way, make sure you have some sort of backups for your files, you don’t want to regret it later. Good luck!

Direct Stafford Loan

Posted on August 24, 2007September 5, 2007 by LiNuX

As you may know, I am starting my college life next week and trust me when I say this, college is VERY expensive. But I believe that a college education is necessary to get a great job and get more opportunities. People with a college degree tend to make double those without a college degree or just a high school diploma. Even an associates degree will help you out in one way or another with your future career. The direct stafford loan is a type of scholarship even though you will have to pay the money back later on. Their interest rates are incredibly low and very affordable.

I was advised to take out the stafford college loan for myself for college but I had to refuse this semester. I have worked at my job the past year and I have saved up enough to pay for college at least one term and that’s my plan for now. And I know that the stafford loan is always there for me if I change my mind as they rarely turn people down for their loans. They only do this to help out students and they know that helping students now will pay off in the future.

If you don’t get full scholarship and sitll need money, you can take out a student loan anytime you wish. You won’t have to worry about paying back until after college and that’s why I like this type of loan. Good luck to all those starting out college just like I am.

Gamers Forum Arcade

Posted on August 24, 2007August 28, 2007 by LiNuX

Gamers Forum is a forum owned by me as some of you may already know. Recently I have converted the forum to vBulletin with an owned license and it has gotten better. I have also launched the Gamers Forum Arcade powered by v3arcade with a total of 50 games.

The arcade has become popular among newer as well as some older members. You have ways to challenge others to play against you and see who’s better at that game. You get titles or championships for each game you have the highest score and your name is highlighted if you have enough. Your username will also show the number of games and which games you are a champion of.

Visit the arcade and play today, remember that you need 10 legit posts before getting access because we have had people abuse the posting system to spam to get access to the arcade. That will just result in the ban and deletion of your username and IP address. Check out the forum FAQs anytime and enjoy the brand new arcade. Most popular games include Snake and Tetris.

Memory Walk

Posted on August 23, 2007August 23, 2007 by LiNuX

Alzheimer Disease or AD was first discovered in the early 20th Century. This will just result in short term memory loss and can sometimes affect one’s vision. Research has come far for this disease and the symptons can be kept under control with medicine and therapy. This brings me to Memory Walk. Memory Walk is just an event that is part of the Alzheimer’s Association. Memory Walk is an event that is about the same age as me that was first brought up in 1989. Since then, this event has raised over $225 million that went into the research for Alzheimer. They have several teams with a Team Captain. These team captians recruit members for the team to raise funds for the cause.

Team Captians are absolutely necessary and if you would like to help them out with this event and raise more funds to help the research, check out the Alzheimer’s Association website for more information on how you can sign up. You should do it early to make sure you have enough time to recruit a whole team.

This is truly a great experience and it is WorldWide so it doesn’t matter if you live in the USA or somewhere in Europe. The research is universal and all funds collected will be used for the same reason. And don’t worry if you don’t like walking. The walk is held in the Fall season, perfect weather and temperature to walk, and it is only 2 to 3 miles long. That’s not much and if you are with friends, you can talk along the walk. Good luck to those that will join up!
